Blasé

In keeping my post-finals-week tradition of watching a movie alive, I watched Lost in Translation yesterday afternoon. I was in a bored mood to begin with, and the DVD only exacerbated my condition. I found the film extremely slow, unexciting, and somewhat teasing in the way of leading the viewer to expect something invigorating to occur at any moment, and instead the film continues on in its monotonous manner until the very end. Then last night, my dreams seemed like scenes out of the film, and today I’m feeling lost and disillusioned, much like the characters of the film. Hence, in retrospect, I’ve concluded that Lost in Translation is a very powerful, meaningful, and thought provoking film. Oh, and disturbing.

Yet I managed to stay in lab for a record amount of time today, and I accomplished a record amount of research (although not nearly enough!).
