“the attention span of a gnat”
Fifteen books out from the library, and I had nothing appealing to read yesterday…IBS’s memoir turned out to be mostly about the problems of random people who came to his father for rabbinical advice, I’m tired of IBS’s short stories, but read a few more (still have 12/47 left…), and in desperation, some more of Rosenfeld’s novel, and then I flipped through my other books in vain. It turned out that my most interesting option was Web Design in a Nutshell (which is pretty boring, but in some respects it was more satisfying than the 2 hours I spent socializing…), which unfortunately inspired me to take up working on my website after a couple week hiatus (following the initial 2-day obsession). I uploaded the revamped site a couple hours ago, and there are still a few glitches, but I think I'm up for another 2 week break before getting to them…

you sound pretty board which is very unlike any situation i have ever faced. i cant beleive that socializing with others wasn't better then reading some crappy books
Ah, yay for the random people who chance upon my blog and don’t know how to spell…At least reading serves me well in that respect. On Friday, I was actually thoroughly looking forward to the one day a week I read books unrelated to my research. It so happened that I had no good books this week and was pretty bored toward the end of the forever long shabbos. Can’t wait to go home next weekend, when I can spend more time socializing than reading and enjoy it!
And I should mention, for those odd readers who don’t personally know me, I rarely (directly) post on any of the interesting aspects of my life, so it may seem like I lead a perpetually boring and lonesome life, but in reality - well I’ll just leave it at - those who know me, know the truth ;).
I doubt that. But I’m always appreciative of your supportive comments! And I don’t aspire to be a renaissance man (or any sort of man), but hopefully I’ll be able to design some structures, and maybe if I’m lucky, a bridge!
