so far as I know

"Lunch" at BPS’s apartment on Saturday night brought to mind the symbolic significance of an experience coming to full circle. To quote the awfully pessimistic MIT graduate slogan of my incoming class, “Every beginning has an end.”

Boston street lined with blossoming magnolia trees Posted by Hello

In commemoration of Patriot’s day (or in celebration of 2 days off from class), my labmates and I walked across the bridge to watch the runners of the Boston Marathon approach finish line. We joked about our labgroup running the marathon next year, and Alex running it wearing only a thong and flip flops, chasing a hot girl, and throwing business cards out to the crowd in attempt to get some dates.

Record-sailing balloonist, sailor, and aviator, Steve Fossett, wrote about Ellen MacArthur, named top solo sailor in the world after setting the solo round-the-world record at 71 days 14 hr. 18 min. 33 sec., “Watching her interviews during the Vendee race, I counted three times when she cried amid the extreme workload and pressure—unmistakably a woman in every respect.” Thank you Steve for letting us know how you define a woman.

BPS has accepted my invitation to be a “contributor” to my blog; looking forward to her posts.
