And now I can say I feel like an Engineer…

To get to the pool from my apartment, I usually cut across the railroad tracks behind my building. But this afternoon, my path was blocked by a long cargo train parked on the tracks. So in accordance with the Lubavitch philosophy of lechatchilah ariber, I proceeded to climb over the train. Hanging off the ledge of the train, I paused for a moment and reflected on how I began my graduate school application essays by writing that prior to my final year of high school, “All the word ‘engineer’ signified to me was the man depicted in picture books standing beside a train wearing the blue-and-white striped jumpsuit...”
