A few weeks ago, observing the runny nose, messy hair, and parental abandonment of a “plain looking” child, in not so many words, I postulated that Ugly Children May Get Parental Short Shrift. BPS claimed the reverse, justifiably arguing that when a child is provided with adequate TLC, he/she will appear significantly more attractive (that is, neglected children make for ugly children and not the other way around).
